Mungo Youth Project
Monday, 29th October 2012
The Mungo Youth Project invites students to participate in learning about the cultural and scientific significance of the Willandra Lakes Region World Heritage Area through supported learning over 12 months. An environmental education conference is held every two years (next in 2013) where the students teach each other what they have learnt, visit special sites with the traditional owners, learn about the pastoral history, work on site with archaeologists and get involved in arts, cultural and language activities.
The Mungo Youth Project importantly builds optimism and aims for a cultural change in the way we use and understand our natural environment whilst developing capabilities as presenters who can communicate ideas in this spectacular and culturally rich world heritage area of international importance.
